About Me
So what’s to know? I’m a 30-something guy who’s living life. First, and most importantly, I’m married to a wonderful wife and have three beautiful children. They are the joys of my life and what keeps me going to the littany of jobs I’ve held over the years. I’m originally from Omaha, NE and attended Westside High School (graduating in 1988). I moved up to the Chicagoland area in 1989 and I’ve been here ever since. I have my Bachelors Degree from DeVry (now DeVry University, I guess) and I’ve been in the IT field since 1992. My background is in administration but I’ve branched into a lead role in Unix (I’m a bit rusty now) and I’ve started to plod pretty heavily into Security.
Outside of the work and home world, my interests have varied over the years… I currently enjoy motorcycles with an affinity for the BMW brand. I’ve been into working on and driving trucks, older vintages are nice. I was into diesel trucks for a while and I still have one F250 (which will be up for sale soon). I restored an International Scout II a while back. And now I drive a 1994 Range Rover which has been pretty fun. The RR is a mix of comfort and ability. I have yet to make a true test of the ability but we’ll see what happens this summer. I’ve also dabbled in homebrewing, amateur and shortwave radio, linux, home improvement, hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, etc., etc.
